These key actuated safety interlock switches operate by detecting the opening of guards such as doors and gates. When the gate is open and the safety interlock is disengaged, its positive opening contacts shut down .

EE Controls-Safety electromechanical key operated safety interlock switches are manufactured by Bernstein to be the most durable and reliable machine safety switches on the market. They are available in a variety of specifications to suit the broadest possible range of machine safety applications.

These safety interlock switches are available in any of three retention forces: 7 lbs. to perform consistently and reliably on average size doors and gates, 22 lbs. to hold very heavy doors closed, and 2 lbs. for light plexiglass covers and guards.

Thermoplastic Bodied Safety Interlock Switches

Constructed from fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic, these interlock switches are NEMA 4 and 12 rated. They feature a multi-positional actuator head for the most application flexibility.
